Free Beach Activities (3 times per week)

In the early afternoon students will go to our partner beach village (only 15 minutes by bus)* . In the beach village you can find the best young atmosphere in the best spot of Catania's gulf: in the shade of many age-old palms and olive trees, Catania's Playa is caressed by a light blue to emerald green sea.
Students will be given a free pass to enter in the village, but it does not include deck chair and beach umbrella. The village has restaurant and bars, beach volley and soccer facilities. A windsurf center is also available. One of our teachers will organize for you games and tournaments. You will have fun, relax and the opportunity of speaking Italian with native people.

• Beach Volley, football, kayak

• Racchettoni, bocce - Let's play together the most traditional Italian beach game. Racchettoni is a sort of tennis that we play on the seashore. Bocce is an old strategy game where each player throws a ball for each set. The winner is the one who gets closer to a smaller black ball. This game will make you feel how the time is slower and more relaxing on a Sicilian beach. 

• Sandcastles building - It is a typical summer hobby for children and adults that boosts collaboration and organization. Another good opportunity to interact with other people in Italian.

• Latin Dances (salsa, meringue and tango) - You can have latin dance lessons to warm up for the hot Catania nightlife. Have fun guessing to which part of the body the Italian names refer to.

• Catania Granitas Tasting - Ice cream was born in Catania thanks to the fisherman Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli that exported it in Paris in 1686. The Cafè Procope became famous for the: "acque gelate", the granita, and different fruity ice creams, like "gelato al succo di limone", "gelato al succo d'arancio" or "sorbetto di fragola". Louis XIV gave to Procopio the sole right to sell this delicious product. In the following centuries this café became a pleasant meeting point also for Voltaire, Napoleone, George Sand, Balzac, Victor Hugo. Can you resist then to taste a different "granita" each day?

• Movida and nightlife! We love parties! You will enjoy with us the nightlife of Catania, one of the best in Italy. Catania is well known for being one the most lively and fun cities in Italy. Its nightlife is particularly sparkling in summer and you will discover the parties on the beach to dance under the stars in typical Italian style.

• ETNA tours. A day spent between ancient woods and smoky lava valleys. A wise guide will lead you to amazing lunar deserts.
